Commissions

If you are interested in hiring Scott Patton for commission work in portraiture or other fine art work, this page will cover the basic framework. Find out  here if the process and general pricing, with examples, would be a good fit for your needs.

If you decide to hire me for a commission, here are a few parameters and an approximate price.

I would need approximately a month from start to finish in case there are any unforeseen delays.

I will film a video of the painting progress and provide the approximate 30 minute long time-lapse video at delivery. Progress photos will be sent periodically after a significant amount of progress.

You will be given 2 minor revisions if something in the painting is not done to your satisfaction.

The finished painting will not include a picture frame.

I price my commission work at $3.75 per square inch and you would own the copyright.

If your photo is in a 3:4 aspect ratio which would lend itself to a 24” x 32” painting. You can go smaller of larger of course depending on your taste.

The price for a 24 x 32 commission would be $2880 and 50% would be required to begin and 50% upon approval before the painting is shipped to you. Shipping is included in that price and I would need your final approval of the reference photo that I would modify with enhanced lighting, cropping, additional objects such as clouds, etc.

Pricing for other sizes of paintings would be as follows.

16 x 20 $1200

 20 x 26 $2000

26 x 34 $3380

There are less expensive commission artists out there, but they probably won’t include reference photo enhancement or a painting video, but regardless, I appreciate the consideration.
