About

As a self-taught artist, Scott Patton, has one main objective with his art. It is to reveal the nature and personality of His creator. He has yet to find a more worthy subject than to bring to life the truths found in scripture.

So, with each painting, he aspires to paint in 3D;  the spiritual dimension, involving truth, the physical dimension with natural beauty and the emotional dimension that plants a powerful image into a person's consciousness. It is his desire that these elements, combined in a beautiful image, will help the viewer better connect with the One who truly loves them.

From an early age of around seven the passion and gifting began to emerge, even if it was only a teacher's raised eyebrow at a funny sketch he did. Scott's high school art teacher noticed that he put more effort into his projects than most. For many years after high school, however, his desire for artistic expression was nearly suffocated with competing ambitions and the calling was nothing more than a faint whisper.

Above is Scott's beloved high school art teacher, Marvin Embree, at Heritage Hall School in Oklahoma City.

However, in 1988, when he was completely transformed by a miraculous encounter with Jesus, the passion was once again ignited! He painting a stunning oil portrait of the face of Christ for his mother. And throughout the following decades, Scott would occasionally take up brush and canvas in order to satisfy an itch to be creative for His Creator.

Once he met his forever sweetheart, Sandra, in 2002, the desire to paint manifested in a portrait of Jesus laughing that adjusted something in Sandra's perception of God that helped her walk more closely with Him.

In 2023, Scott realized that if he was ever going to fulfill what he believed his heavenly assignment was, he'd better get serious! So with a mustard seed of faith and a burning desire to see his Savior's name lifted high, he began to paint. Much rust and many barnacles had to be broken off, but after a few weeks he found his stride! And with each painting Scott saw improvements in his skills.

If you will take some time to watch some of the videos of him painting, perhaps you will glean some helpful tips and techniques that will help you in your painting journey. Scott is grateful that some of you would find his art interesting and prays that you will find what you are passionate about so that you can express the beautiful gift that your Creator put in each one one of you.
